Utah is known world wide for the deep fluffy snow, which is fondly called "the Greatest Snow on earth." For the last four years Skiing Magazine has added Snowbird and Alta to their rankings and has named them the No. 1 ski resorts in the United States. |

Snowbird ski resort is located one mile down canyon from Alta. Snowbird and Alta receive over 42 feet of "dry" Utah powder annually. This phenomenon is caused from the ideal geography location of The Great Salt Lake and we call it "The Lake Effect." This phenomenon produces the best powder snow known world wide.
The Snowbird Terrain Park provides world-renowned skiing and snowboarding, Snowbird offers snowmobiling, ice skating, tubing, orienteering and snowshoe tours. Snowbasin was the world stage at the Olympic Winter Games in February 2002. Two of the most challenging downhill racecourses ever traced on a mountain can be found here. The quality of the snow found in the mountains is unbelievable and the access to the back country is phenomenal, you can find deep wonderful powder on any given day. If you snowboard this is just what you are looking for. There are many trails cut just for snowboarding Ski in the snow and warm up in the pools with a nice hot drink before dining.
